Half of Colorado’s mortgage-broker licenses deactivated

In case you missed this article in the Denver Business Journal, you may want to know that:

The Colorado Division of Real Estate on Monday [August 31st] inactivated 4,560 mortgage broker licenses, about half of the licenses in the state, division Director Erin Toll said.

If you would like to check on the status of your mortgage broker’s licenses, visit the Colorado Division of Real Estate’s website.  This is a welcome change for Colorado, one of the last states not to regulated mortgage brokers.  NOTE:  Mortgage Bankers do not need to be licensed, as they are strictly regulated under banking laws.
